Luke Combs is officially a dad!
Combs and his wife, Nicole, welcomed “lil dude Combs” on Fathers Day (Sunday, June 19). The proud parents introduced him to the world: Tex Lawrence Combs. The “Better Together” singer shared in a sweet Instagram post on Tuesday (June 21):
“Welp he decided that Fathers Day would be a good time to show up. I couldn’t agree more. Me and @nicolejcombs are over the moon in love with this little guy. Mama and baby are healthy and we’re back home now with family. Life is good. Everyone welcome Tex Lawrence Combs to the world!”
Nicole added in a post of her own: “It’s going to be hard to top this past Father’s Day 🥲 Welcome to the world, Tex Lawrence Combs. You are the best chillest angel boy and I’m so happy I was chosen to be your mom. These are the days 🤍”
Nicole explained on Instagram earlier this month that Tex Lawrence “a family name but also pretty unique I think.” She didn’t reveal her son’s name at the time, but noted that “picking a boy name was EXTREMELY difficult for us lol.” Before hinting at the name, Nicole — who also shared some “STUNNING” baby bump pics and photos from the baby shower during her pregnancy — said she was “SO unbelievably thankful to be pregnant, you have no idea… but I’m more than ready for him to be here.”
Combs took to Instagram to share the joyous pregnancy announcement in January: “Here we go y’all! Lil dude Combs is coming this Spring! Couldn’t be more excited to start a family with this babe. It’s gonna be a hell of a ride,” Combs announced at the time, sharing a few heartwarming photos of the parents-to-be, including with a sonogram picture. Nicole added her prediction that 2022 “may be the best year yet,” saying that she and her superstar husband “are so incredibly excited & thankful.”
The “Forever After All” singer — whose next highly-anticipated album is set to release Friday (June 24) — previously told Bobby Bones at the Grand Ole Opry that he was excited to become a dad, and he admitted that he was also “a little nervous.” He said there’s “a lot of stuff to do” to prepare to welcome his and Nicole’s first child. “I got a lot on my plate I don’t even realize is on there yet,” Combs said. “I’m uncovering things every day.” The country star also admitted he “didn’t know what a bassinet was… (There are) a lot of new words I’m learning.” Still, Combs obviously has a way with kids. He’s shared a few adorable videos of kids having a blast at his concerts, including an 8-year-old fan in Texas who shouted every word along to Combs’ song. Combs captioned: “THIS! This is why I’d still be Doin’ This if I wasn’t Doin’ This!”
