Luke Combs and his wife, Nicole, announced last month that “Lil dude Combs” is joining the family this spring. The parents-to-be shared heartwarming photos, debuting Nicole’s baby bump and holding up the sonogram picture of their soon-to-be-born son.

It’s an exciting time — but it’s also nerve-wracking, Combs recently admitted at the Grand Ole Opry. Speaking with Bobby Bones, the “Forever After All” singer admitted that he’s “a little nervous” about becoming a dad. He said he’s “got a lot of stuff to do, you know what I mean? Like, I got a lot on my plate I don’t even realize is on there yet. I’m uncovering things every day.”

For example, Combs said he “didn’t know what a bassinet was. That’s a thing, apparently. (There are) a lot of new words I’m learning.” Combs said he’s reached out to some friends for parenting advice, and “I realized the baby just doesn’t need me at all. You know what I mean? I’m just there to clean stuff, I think is kinda the idea.”

Despite the nervousness, Combs assured “I’m excited. We’re excited.”

Combs’ fans gushed over the baby news when he and Nicole posted on Instagram on January 20. “Here we go y’all! Lil dude Combs is coming this Spring! Couldn’t be more excited to start a family with this babe. It’s gonna be a hell of a ride,” Combs captioned. Nicole, saying that “this may be the best year yet,” added, “baby BOY combs coming spring 2022!! we are so incredibly excited & thankful.”
