Maren Morris posted an acoustic rendition of one of her latest songs — which marks a big milestone — and fans are in love with the “beautiful” new version. Morris posted the 46-second clip on TikTok on Wednesday (June 1), celebrating that “‘Circles Around This Town’ is officially top 10.”

The autobiographical track reflects on Morris’ beginnings in Nashville, Tennessee, working to build her career as a country singer-songwriter. “Circles Around This Town” was the first single Morris released on her latest album, Humble Quest, which included other fan-favorites like “Hummingbird,” “Background Music,” ”Nervous,” “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” the title track and others. On Humble Quest’s debut single, Morris reflects:

“I drove circles around this town/ Tryin' to write circles around this town/ Tryna say somethin' with meanin’/ Somethin' worth singin' about/ I’ve been kind and I've been ruthless/ Yeah, got here but the truth is/ Thought when I hit it, it'd all look different/ But I still got the pedal down/ Drivin' circles around this town”

Morris previously told iHeartCountry that the lyrics that stick out to her the most nod to two of her earlier hit songs, “80s Mercedes” and “My Church.” She also explained that the title was “bouncing around my head” when she got the idea for the song: “I thought it would be clever to say I would drive circles around this town, meaning Nashville, trying to write circles around it, meaning the songwriters. And I just got immediately humbled when I got here nine years ago and realized everyone in Nashville is a great songwriter and you better get in line. …I think I ultimately wanted this song to feel like a trip down memory lane, but also hopefully positive and inspiring for any aspiring songwriter out there or just dream-haver.”
