Maren Morris debuted a sentimental song called “Hummingbird” on her latest album, and on Friday morning (April 15), she reflected on the day she wrote it. Morris shared adorable photos of her holding her son when she revealed that she wrote the song “on the day I found out I was pregnant with Hayes. By the time we were recording, he was talking so I got to record his sweet voice to add to the top of the track.” Morris sings:

“Hummingbird, hummingbird/ You're the sound of these strings/ Hummingbird, hummingbird/ On my skin rest your wings/ I’ll hold you in my lovin' arms/ But I'll let you fly free/ Hummingbird, hummingbird/ Now your heart beats in me.” See her post here:

Morris and her husband, fellow singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd, welcomed Hayes on March 23, 2020. They recently celebrated his second birthday with a trip to a petting zoo, and Hurd shared in a sweet post: “It is Hayes birthday and we are so lucky to have him. He wears glasses and roars like a lion all day long. He is a great kid and I love him. Also, we swore a kid wouldn’t take over our house. Now that it has, we wouldn’t change a thing.” (Morris admitted, though, that the photo showing Hayes’ toys all over the house “is giving me anxiety.”)

Morris is one of many artists included in the star-studded lineup at the iHeartCountry Festival presented by Capital One, set for May 7 in Austin, Texas.
