Cole Swindell and Lainey Wilson teamed up for another smoldering performance of their smash collaboration, and as she relived the experience, Wilson said “singing this one with ya never gets old, [Cole Swindell]!” The reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Best New Country Artist and the nine-time platinum single artist performed “Never Say Never” on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Powerhouse singer and talkshow host Kelly Clarkson introduced Swindell and Wilson, noting that the duet is one of 13 tracks included on Swindell’s fourth studio album Stereotype, which released earlier this month. Swindell previously explained that Stereotype allowed him to “feel through all of the highs and lows and feeling every emotion in the last three years. I think the fans are going to find there is a song on here for everyone, at least I hope so. I always want my songs to make a difference like they did for me in writing some of them.”
Swindell and Wilson previously premiered an eerie music video earlier this year, portraying a spark between a jail officer and a prison inmate ignite an attempt to escape. Afterward, they recalled what it was like to film on prison grounds, remembering the “scary” appearance and “freezing cold” building.
