Taylor Kerr Shares What It's Like To Bring Baby Leighton On The Road

Maddie & Tae are hitting the road on the “CMT Next Women of Country Tour Presents: All Song No Static Tour,” bringing along an unofficial new bandmate as they kick off the series of shows in Okahoma City. Leighton Grace Kerr, Taylor Kerr’s daughter, is coming along for the tour for the first time.

“Leighton is a pro traveler,” Kerr said, per CMT. “She is so easy on the road, and she loves new environments. She loves people. She was kind of made for it, and it's been great. …She's just so curious. She's so excited about life.”

Kerr and her husband, Josh, announced the pregnancy in November, saying at that time that “baby Kerr is joining us earthside in spring ‘22 and we are already so deeply in love.” Instead, however, their daughter arrived early. Leighton was born on January 17, and spent 53 days in the NICU before she finally came home. From Day One, Leighton was “beautiful, strong and everything we have ever dreamed of. she decided to be a Capricorn like her daddy. we already can’t wait for the day we get to finally take her home 💜,” the proud parents announced at the time. Kerr has since celebrated her first Mother’s Day as a mom, and marked Leighton’s due date with a sweet family photo (and an emotional look back at Leighton’s birth story).

Maddie & Tae — which also includes Kerr’s duo partner, Maddie Font — released their latest EP, Through The Madness Vol. 1 earlier this year. They’ll follow that 8-track project with Through The Madness Vol. 2, set to release on September 23. See their tour dates here:
