Brian Kelley recently reflected on his latest solo project, and took to Instagram on Monday morning (April 18) ahead of his upcoming tour to share “my why…” Kelley recalled moving to Nashville in the fall of 2007, and his path crossing with Tyler Hubbard’s at Belmont University. As a duo, Kelley and Hubbard — Florida Georgia Line — have formed a “brotherhood” and broken records together over the course of a decade. Still, pursuing a solo album has remained a longtime dream for Kelley. He realized “there’s never gonna be the perfect time… you have to go for it when you feel like you gotta go for it.”

Kelley debuted Sunshine State of Mind last year, and now, he’s getting ready to hit the road on his first solo tour with The Boat Boys. In February, Kelley announced that he’s “starting summer early” and promised to bring “some beach vibes” on his upcoming “Made By The Water” Tour. See the tour dates Kelley previously shared on Instagram here.

“There’s some rainy days here and there,” Kelley said in the video shared on social media on Monday. “Sunshine state of mind, it can get you through anything.” Watch Kelley reflect on his solo project here:
