Happy birthday, Hayes!

Singing-songwriting power couple Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd welcomed their first child two years ago, on March 23, 2020. To celebrate his second birthday, Hurd posted a heartfelt message to his son, along with a couple of photos to commemorate the occasion. Hurd took to Instagram on Wednesday morning (March 23), sharing one photo of him holding his son (whose face is blocked out by the smiling sun emoji) and another of Hayes’ toys taking over the house.

“It is Hayes birthday and we are so lucky to have him. He wears glasses and roars like a lion all day long. He is a great kid and I love him,” Hurd captioned, adding: “Also, we swore a kid wouldn’t take over our house. Now that it has, we wouldn’t change a thing.” (Morris admitted, though, that the “second photo is giving me anxiety.”)

The proud parents also celebrated Hayes’ birthday over the weekend. Morris chronicled their trip to a petting zoo, where Hayes donned his cowboy boots and bonded with some goats and other farm animals. Morris gushed in her caption: “My baby boy is 2. 😭🦙🐓🐑🐃” Morris is one of many artists included in the star-studded lineup at the iHeartCountry Festival presented by Capital One, set for May 7 in Austin, Texas.
