Chase Matthew delivered a soulful rendition of one of Bob Seger’s early 1970s anthems when he joined podcast hosting duo Dan and Reid Isbell on a recent episode of God’s Country.

Matthew — known for “Love You Again,” “Darlin’” and more — teamed up with the Isbell brothers on a cover of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member’s “Turn The Page” : “Here I am/ On the road again/ There I am/ On the stage/ Here I go/ Playin' star again/ There I go/ Turn the page.”

“This week Reid and Dan host multiplatinum artist, Chase Matthew out in God's Country. The three of them immediately bond over their poor man ways that they can't seem to get over. Chase shares his love for motors and Reid immediately takes advantage of the opportunity to try and troubleshoot what is wrong with his lawn mower. They dive in on what motivates Chase to pursue his dreams as a country music star and even dial in Chase's dad to share some old band stories! Episode ends with Chase stealing the guitar from Dan and turning the page.”

Dan and Reid — who have written music for Luke CombsMiranda LambertScotty McCreeryJon PardiLainey Wilson and others — started their weekly podcast in early January 2024. Some of the first guests to appear on the show include HARDYDustin LynchColbie Caillat and others.

“One of our favorite things about country music has always been how intertwined it is with the outdoors,” Dan and Reid Isbell said in a statement when God’s Country launched. They hope to “bring the outdoor enthusiast or country music lover an up close and personal look into the minds of some of the best songwriters and artists of the genre — a place where they can be honest about struggles, relationships, their connection to the outdoors, the music business, family, whatever they feel comfortable talking about. We can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.”
