Jana Kramer shared an emotional tribute to her son as she celebrates his first birthday on Wednesday (November 13).
Kramer, 40, welcomed Baby No. 3 last year. Son Roman James Russell is Kramer’s first baby with husband Allan Russell, and joins Jolie, 8, and Jace, 5, Kramer’s two children from her previous marriage. The country artist, author, actress and podcast host admitted she was “feeling all the emotions” on Tuesday evening (November 12). She revealed in a lengthy post that she could have lost her pregnancy. When she was about 8 weeks pregnant, Kramer, who said she miscarried multiple times in the past, discovered she had a “50/50 chance I would miscarry” again.
“I was shocked when we saw a heartbeat later that day,” she said in that post on Instagram, in part. “I’m so thankful for Allan because he heard the positive side of it …but all I heard was I’m going to lose the baby.
Kramer said she “prayed so hard for this sweet baby to just keep on beating. So when it was time to write on the foundation of our house our prayers and scripture we love, all I kept thinking was just ‘keep on beating baby,’” she said, sharing a photo of the quote she wrote in her home. “I have had multiple miscarriages and it isn’t lost on me I got pregnant the very first month we tried. I hope no matter what age, or how long it’s taking, or if you have had loses, that you never lose hope. I know it’s not easy though and I’m sorry… but I can promise you that God and their heartbeats will always find a way.”
On Wednesday morning, Kramer shared a heartwarming compilation of moments with Roman and the rest of the family. The video, set to Jimmy Charles’ “They Grow Up Too Fast,” is captioned: “Happy 1st birthday to our Roman. It has been the greatest year loving you. You were the missing piece we didn’t even know was missing , and then you came and we now are complete ..♥️ We love you so much.”
Kramer shared her birth story on Whine Down with Jana Kramer shortly after welcoming Roman. Russell, 43, hailed Kramer “an absolute warrior of a woman.” The Scottish former soccer star wrote in a tribute to his son on Wednesday: “Happy 1st birthday Roman our little meatball. Your smiles and laughs make our lives better everyday ❤️ you have the smile of your mummy and appetite of your daddy xxx”
Kramer and Russell got married over the summer in a stunning ceremony in Scotland.
