Koe Wetzel revealed his “best arrest story” when he caught up with Dan and Reid Isbell on a recent episode of God’s Country.

The Texas-born singer-songwriter, 32, said he autographed his mugshot when he got out of jail hours after his arrest. Wetzel said he was he was staying in a hotel and opted to walk to the nearest Whataburger a few miles away. It was around 4 a.m., and Wetzel said he saw the red and blue police lights signaling for him to stop, “and I was like, ‘sh*t.’” Brothers and podcast hosts Dan and Reid shared a clip of the conversation on Instagram (warning: language). They said in their caption that they’re “TAKING A POLL. Should [Koe Wetzel] have gotten arrested for this?”

“This week Reid and Dan Isbell host genre-bending artist Koe Wetzel out in God's Country. The guys share their What Ya Mad At stories of the week and seem to have a common theme, which is hating on certain vehicles. Koe spills the beans on his best arrest story, the ins and outs of catfish noodling, and how they all share a love for big deer. Reid and Dan fanboy over Koe's new album '9 Lives' and have had it on repeat ever since they recorded this episode.”

Dan and Reid — who have written music for Luke CombsMiranda LambertScotty McCreeryJon PardiLainey Wilson and others — started their weekly podcast this year. Guests appearing on the show so far include HARDYDustin LynchColbie Caillat and others.

“One of our favorite things about country music has always been how intertwined it is with the outdoors,” Dan and Reid Isbell said in a statement when God’s Country launched. They hope to “bring the outdoor enthusiast or country music lover an up close and personal look into the minds of some of the best songwriters and artists of the genre — a place where they can be honest about struggles, relationships, their connection to the outdoors, the music business, family, whatever they feel comfortable talking about. We can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.”
