Singer-songwriter Brent Cobb paid tribute to a late, Texas-born country artist with a rendition of a mid-1970s ballad when he appeared on a recent episode of God’s Country.
Cobb delivered an acoustic cover of “Anyhow, I love you.” It's a song that folk and country singer-songwriter and luthier Guy Clark released on his 10-track album, Texas Cookin’, in 1976. The Texas Outlaw artist was born in Monahans — located in Ward County, in the western part of the Lone Star state — in November 1941. Clark died following a battle with cancer in May 2016 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 74.
Cobb joined brothers Dan and Reid Isbell on God’s Country “to discuss the family tradition of deer ham cook-offs and music in his family. We can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.”
