Solo host and leading nominee Kelsea Ballerini will also take the stage as a performer at the 2024 CMT Music Awards, per an announcement on Tuesday morning (March 19). CMT revealed the first round of performers, which also includes hitmakers Bailey Zimmerman, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Lainey Wilson and Sam Hunt.
The announcement comes shortly after CMT shared the list of nominees for the upcoming awards show, set to return for another year at Moody Center in Austin, Texas. This year, leading 2024 CMT Music Award nominees include Wilson, Ballerini, Cody Johnson, Megan Moroney and Jelly Roll, who was last year’s most-awarded artist with three victories throughout the evening. This year’s list of also includes 14 first-time nominees, including four members of the 2024 CMT Next Women of Country. Voting is now open for nine categories, and will remain open through April 1 for all but the Video of the Year category, which will remain open for voting into the live show, per a previous announcement by CMT. The 2024 CMT Music Awards will return to Moody Center in Austin, Texas, taking place on Sunday, April 7, and airing live (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT). Viewers can watch on CBS and stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
