Jelly Roll “couldn’t ask for a better birthday.”
The reigning CMA New Artist of the Year expressed his gratitude in an Instagram post on Monday (December 4), marking his 39th birthday. He penned a tribute to his family, his thriving career, his smash-hit single with “sister” Lainey Wilson and more:
“I couldn’t ask for a better birthday. Im surrounded by family that loves me. I write songs and sing them for a living and right now I celebrate having the number 1 song on Country Radio with my sister Lainey Wilson. God is incredible - thanks for all the love . My wife was waiting for me with my daughter , niece, nephew in law and of course all the dogs when I got home at midnight last night to sing me happy birthday- WHAT A YEAR!”
Jelly Roll posted a selfie with his dog, wearing a colorful birthday hat, and shared a video of the moment his family sang “Happy Birthday” to him.
The Grammy Award-nominated artist, from the Antioch neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee, released his latest full-length album earlier this year. Whitsitt Chapel was named after Jelly Roll’s hometown church, featuring “Halfway To Hell,” “Need A Favor,” “Save Me” with Wilson and other highlights. Jelly Roll previously said Wilson was the “perfect voice” to join him on the duet. He previously described the powerful album as a collection of “therapeutic music” that aims to help listeners feel “hopeful.”
