'Drunk And Hungover': Carrie Underwood Reveals Snippet Of Unreleased Ballad

Carrie Underwood shared a sneak peek of a soon-to-release track from the Denim & Rhinestones deluxe edition shortly before the full extended album makes its highly-anticipated debut. Underwood revealed a snippet of “Drunk And Hungover” on her social media channels on Wednesday night (September 19). The full deluxe album will release at midnight.

Underwood announced in June — about a year after the original, 12-track Denim & Rhinestones released in June 2022 — that she would extend the collection with a few new tracks. She confirmed the upcoming collection after sharing a n exclusive sneak peek with a group of her superfans (the “Care Bears”) at a fan club party at the legendary Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Denim & Rhinestones deluxe album will include a few previously-released added tracks, including Underwood’s nostalgic breakup anthem “Out Of That Truck” and the romantic ballad “Take Me Out.” The new additions join original fan-favorites like “Ghost Story,” “Hate My Heart,” “Crazy Angels,” “Pink Champagne” and other highest from the 2022 album. 

“We have a lot of songs that could be kind of considered ‘throwback’ type songs, but they sound so super fresh,” Underwood previously explained of Denim & Rhinestones. “These are just influences that are in me and work their way out, and I just decided this time not to get in my way. I feel like this one ended up being a bigger reflection of me as a person, as an artist. I grew up listening to so many different kinds of music. I feel like that is extremely evident in this body of work. …I really just wanted to make an album that just felt like fun.”
