Luke Combs delivered a powerful rendition of the smoldering smash-hit country anthem from his latest album, “The Kind Of Love We Make,” when he took the Bridgestone Arena stage at the 56th annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday night (November 9).

The award-winning country hitmaker, who won the Entertainer of the Year award to close out the evening, premiered a fiery music video for the song earlier this year, which he teased with a few glimpses on TikTok in the days leading up to its release: “Let’s get some candles burning and some records turning/ All the lights down low, take it nice and slow/ The way your body’s moving, keep doing what you’re doing/ To me all night long writing our love song/ Girl, I want it, gotta have it/ Let the passion take us to a higher place/ Making the kind of love we make/ The kind of love we make”

“The Kind Of Love We Make” is one of 12 tracks on Combs’ latest album, Growin’ Up, which released in June, days after he and his wife, Nicole, welcomed their firstborn child. The highly-anticipated album — which earned the Album of the Year award later in the evening — included many other fan-favorite tracks by the reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Artist of the Year, including “Doin’ This,” “Tomorrow Me,” “Middle Of Somewhere,” “Going, Going, Gone,” a duet with fellow award-winning singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert, and more.

Combs and his wife welcomed their son, Tex Lawrence Combs, on Fathers Day (Sunday, June 19), days before Growin’ Up debuted that Friday. Combs shared at the time that it’s “been a hell of a week for me, I got my 5-day-old son in there, my wife’s in there, family’s in town. My brand new album, Growin’ Up, is out today. It has been such a long time in the making: So many hours spent in the studio, in the writing room, trying to get these things perfect and trying to get it out to you. I’m so glad that you guys are finally getting to hear these things, and I’m really, really looking forward to hearing what you guys think about these things… a lot more music coming soon. Love y’all. Thank you so much for the support, as always, and we’ll see you out on the road.”
