Mickey Guyton debuted a passionate new single that aims to serve as a tribute to the common ground of prayer. The country singer-songwriter explained as “I Still Pray” released on Friday (November 4) that “no matter what you believe in, prayer is a universal language,” she said. “Sometimes when you don’t know what to do or how to help someone, you pray. I hope that it brings you some inspiration in those moments when you need it.”

Guyton announced earlier this week that she would release the soulful new song, which she wrote with Tyler HubbardRyan Daly and Steph Jones. Other singers and songwriters — including Lindsay Ell and Runaway June’s Natalie Stovall and Jennifer Wayne — were quick to praise Guyton’s inspirational anthem as she released the full track on Friday.

Guyton shared “I Still Pray” after releasing a few other songs earlier this year, including her heartfelt ballad “How You Love Someone” and the bubbly, “joy-filled” anthem, “Somethin’ Bout You.” She previously confirmed on her social media channels that she’s “been working on so much new music” lately, following her 16-track debut LP that released last year. Remember Her Name served as a milestone of the last 10 years of Guyton’s life in Nashville as she looked ahead to the next chapter. She said at the time: “I set out to create music that would make people feel self-empowered, loved, and comfortable with being themselves and this album holds true to all of that. I hope everyone who listens finds something that connects and speaks to them.”
