Morgan Wallen’s ballad that serves as a heartfelt tribute to his mom is the next single that the country singer-songwriter is releasing to country radio. “Thought You Should Know” is a letter to Wallen’s mom:

“I thought you should know/ That all those prayers you thought you wasted on me/ Must've finally made their way on through/ I thought you should know/ I got me a new girl down there in Jefferson City, and/ She lets me fish whenever I want to/ Yeah, I'm still proud of where I came from/ Still your only damn son/ Can you believe I'm on the radio?/ Just thought you should know, thought you should know, thought you should know.”

Wallen’s new radio single comes as the reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Album of the Year winner is gearing up for his next big project. Wallen recently posted a series of photos on Instagram, reflecting on his “last shows for a while,” and confirmed that “now it’s onto album grind mode, let’s get it.”

He’s not the only one who seems to have big plans in the works… Last month, fellow country artist ERNEST appeared to drop a major hint on social media. When one fan wrote in a comment on Instagram, “If we get a HARDY, morgan, and ern album in the same year I will be deceased,” ERNEST replied: “I’d get ur affairs in order lol.” HARDY previously announced that his half country, half rock album is set to release on January 20, 2023. Wallen is featured on one of the tracks.

Wallen, who performed his biggest hits at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas earlier this year, released Dangerous: The Double Album in 2021. Over the weekend, he teased fans with a snippet of an unreleased track, “Me + All Your Reasons.” Listen to it here:
