Brooke Eden and Hilary Hoover are married!
The couple tied the knot in a stunning beach wedding at a Mexico resort over the weekend, finally saying “I do” after several years. Eden and Hoover shared photos from their wedding day as they gushed in a heartfelt Instagram caption: “It’s officially official!! We waited almost 7 years for this day, so we wanted to go big! We decided to trap a bunch of our favorite people on a resort in Mexico and it’s been THE BEST week of our lives. …More details later, today we’re just celebrating getting to call each other WIFE.” Eden added: “Together with you, I vow to advocate for equality and to fight for a world where no one fears loving who they love.”
PEOPLE, sharing photos of the newlyweds, noted that this was the second time Eden and Hoover held a wedding ceremony, following an intimate Nashville church ceremony with their families, who are from Florida and Indiana. Country icons Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood attended the church wedding, which Yearwood officiated and Nashville photographer Ford Fairchild officiated the beachside ceremony in Mexico. The couple told PEOPLE:
“With our families living so far away from each other, they hadn't had a lot of quality time with each other. We had to get legally married in the states prior to Mexico, so we knew a Nashville ceremony with our families would be the perfect way for our families to bond.
“It was the most amazing thing watching our families fall in love. Hilary's nieces and nephew became best friends with Brooke's niece (our flower girls and ring bearer) and so did the rest of our family. We've had so much support from family and friends that we really wanted to celebrate with everyone.”
The ceremony in Mexico comes shortly after Eden made history on the cover of the first-ever print issue of Love Inc., described as an “equality-minded wedding magazine.” Its founder and editor-in-chief Brittny Drye said at the time that Love Inc. was “honored to have country music artist Brooke Eden as our cover star and delve into her story of coming out in the typically conservative country music world as well as planning her upcoming wedding with fiancée Hilary Hoover.”
“The most important thing about getting married is that you’re so happy to be with your partner on your wedding day,” Eden told Love Inc. “Figure out what’s important to you at the beginning. And don’t let anyone else push you into what they think is important.”
