Luke Combs is “pumped” to officially release his soulful cover of an Ed Sheeran song, following popular demand from fans who have heard the award-winning country artist’s live covers.

“Ever since I started playing ‘Dive,’ I heard all of the requests for me to release it everywhere,” Combs said on his Instagram story on Friday (October 28). “Well, I’m pumped to announce it is now available wherever you listen to music!”

Earlier this year, Sheeran joined Combs on stage while the reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Artist of the Year headlined the C2C: Country to Country music festival, treating the crowd to a live cross-genre collaboration. The two artists reportedly teamed up to perform “Dive” during the show, Sheeran’s song that appears on his 2017 album ÷. Combs had previously covered the song, apparently garnering big responses from fans eager for him to release it: “So don't call me baby/ Unless you mean it/ Don't tell me you need me/ If you don't believe it/ So let me know the truth/ Before I dive right into you.”

Combs’ latest album to release is Growin’ Up. The 12-track project — including “Doin’ This,” “Tomorrow Me,” “Going, Going, Gone” and other fan-favorites — released in June, days after Combs and his wife, Nicole, welcomed their firstborn child. Combs said at the time that the album, “has been such a long time in the making: So many hours spent in the studio, in the writing room, trying to get these things perfect and trying to get it out to you. I’m so glad that you guys are finally getting to hear these things, and I’m really, really looking forward to hearing what you guys think about these things… a lot more music coming soon. Love y’all.”
