Kelsea Ballerini expresses her gratitude and casts “the thief of my joy” aside with a beautiful acoustic ballad she debuted on Friday (September 2). “What I Have” is the latest song Ballerini shared from her highly-anticipated album, Subject To Change. The full-length project is due later this month.

“I got the air, good eyes to see/ Got so much more than I'll ever need/ Even the bad days ain't all that bad/ With what I have/ I’m doing alright right where I'm at/ With what I have”

Ballerini shared on her social media channels that “this song was written somewhere in between reflection and eagerness,” she said with a clip of the song that pays tribute to her Jeep, her dog and her dream job. Ballerini added, “although ever changing, i’m happy with what i have.”

The song quickly earned praise from Ballerini’s fans (applauding the “beautiful” song and assuring her it’s been on repeat all morning) and fellow celebs on her social media channels, including comments from comedian Chelsea Handler and artists Brittney Spencer and Lady A’s Hillary Scott. Ballerini shared a teaser of “What I Have” on Thursday (September 1), confirming that the song would release after seemingly hinting at it in an Instagram post on Wednesday (August 31). She captioned a photo: “right where i’m at with what i have.”

The heartfelt ballad is the latest to release from Subject To Change, following “The Little Things,” “Love Is A Cowboy” and “HEARTFIRST.” Ballerini previously shared that her album is “different than anything I’ve ever done, and it’s heavily influenced by… ‘90s female country.” Subject To Change will release on September 23.
