Kelsea Ballerini expresses her gratitude and casts âthe thief of my joyâ aside with a beautiful acoustic ballad she debuted on Friday (September 2). âWhat I Haveâ is the latest song Ballerini shared from her highly-anticipated album, Subject To Change. The full-length project is due later this month.
âI got the air, good eyes to see/ Got so much more than I'll ever need/ Even the bad days ain't all that bad/ With what I have/ Iâm doing alright right where I'm at/ With what I haveâ
Ballerini shared on her social media channels that âthis song was written somewhere in between reflection and eagerness,â she said with a clip of the song that pays tribute to her Jeep, her dog and her dream job. Ballerini added, âalthough ever changing, iâm happy with what i have.â
The song quickly earned praise from Balleriniâs fans (applauding the âbeautifulâ song and assuring her itâs been on repeat all morning) and fellow celebs on her social media channels, including comments from comedian Chelsea Handler and artists Brittney Spencer and Lady Aâs Hillary Scott. Ballerini shared a teaser of âWhat I Haveâ on Thursday (September 1), confirming that the song would release after seemingly hinting at it in an Instagram post on Wednesday (August 31). She captioned a photo: âright where iâm at with what i have.â
The heartfelt ballad is the latest to release from Subject To Change, following âThe Little Things,â âLove Is A Cowboyâ and âHEARTFIRST.â Ballerini previously shared that her album is âdifferent than anything Iâve ever done, and itâs heavily influenced by⌠â90s female country.â Subject To Change will release on September 23.
