Kelsea Ballerini is counting her blessings in the heartfelt ballad she’s dropping at midnight, kicking off the weekend with “What I Have.” The award-winning singer-songwriter shared a brief teaser of the song on TikTok on Thursday (September 1) as she announced the upcoming release. The clip sees Ballerini sitting in the sunshine with her dog, Dibs, walking up to her as she sings: “Even the bad days ain’t all that bad/ With what I have/ I’m doing alright, right where I’m at/ With what I have.”
Ballerini confirmed that “What I Have” would release after seemingly teasing the song on Instagram on Wednesday (August 31). She posted a photo of her silhouette sitting in front of a breathtaking sunset, sharing in her caption that she’s “right where i’m at with what i have.” Ballerini’s teaser garnered supportive comments from fans, Brett Young’s wife Taylor Mills Young, Lindsay Ell and Carly Pearce, who added: “and we are all so proud of you 😘.” Ballerini’s social media followers gushed with excitement to learn that another song would be available Friday (September 2).
Last month, Ballerini hinted that she would share another song from her highly-anticipated studio album, Subject To Change, before the full project releases on September 23. She posted a photo on Instagram, wondering: “is this giving heartfirst, love is a cowboy, the little things, or the new one that comes out in a few weeks energy?” Ballerini previously shared that her long-awaited album is “different than anything I’ve ever done, and it’s heavily influenced by… ‘90s female country.”
