LeAnn Rimes is marking the anniversary of an iconic moment… Coyote Ugly released on August 4, 2000. Rimes shared a throwback in honor of the film’s anniversary, set to “Can’t Fight The Moonlight.”
Rimes wrote on Instagram: “it’s official… we’ve been dancing on bars for 22 years 😂.” She tagged cast members Piper Perabo, Adam Garcia, Bridget Moynahan, Maria Bello, Izabella Miko, and hashtagged Tyra Banks.
The “the wild” singer recalled the well-known scene when she spoke with iHeartCountry earlier this year. Rimes said at the time that she’s still puzzled as to how anyone allowed her to dance on top of a bar when she was a teenager. She laughed as she told iHeartCountry: “I cant believe my mom — well, not that she had a say in it at the time, but — I was 17, I cant believe anybody allowed me up on a bar at 17.”
Rimes recently celebrated 25 years as a recording artist and, in a recent interview, reflected on her resilience as she grew up in the spotlight and built her legendary career. The record-setting country artist skyrocketed to success as a teen and even became the youngest and first country artist to win Best New Artist at the GRAMMY Awards in 1997. Now, Rimes looks forward to turning 40 this month. After that, she’ll release her highly-anticipated new album god’s work:
- spaceship
- the only (Ft. Ziggy Marley, Ledisi, and Ben Harper)
- awakening
- how much a heart can hold
- throw my arms around the world
- the wild (Ft. Sheila E. and Mickey Guyton)
- innocent
- god’s work (Ft. Robert Randolph, Mickey Guyton, and Tata Vega)
- something better’s coming
- imagined with love
- there will be a better day
- i do (Duet by Aloe Blacc and LeAnn Rimes)
