Ingrid Andress Gets Sentimental About Falling In Love

Some people might think of heartbreak when they see the color blue, but Ingrid Andress has her own interpretation. The country singer-songwriter debuted another song from her upcoming album on Friday (July 29), a sentimental track about falling in love:

“It’s like I’ve never seen the ocean/ Or a Bud Light neon sign/ Like I’ve never seen a California swimming pool/ A faded pair of Levi 505s/ Thought I’d know just what to call the color of the Colorado sky/ But looking in your eyes it’s like seeing blue for the first time.”

Andress explained in a recent interview with Rolling Stone: “‘Blue’ is on the lighter side of the record as it recalls the joy of falling in love which we often take for granted until things go wrong.”

“Blue” is the latest song from Andress’ 12-track album to release. Previously, she’s shared “Good Person,” “Seeing Someone Else,” and “Pain,” which she described as the “pivot point” of the album, switching from darker struggles to brighter perspectives. “Blue” appears in the second half of the track list:

  1. Good Person
  2. Yearbook
  3. Seeing Someone Else
  4. Talk
  5. How Honest Do You Want Me To Be?
  6. No Choice
  7. Pain
  8. Feel Like This
  9. Blue
  10. Falling For You
  11. All The Love
  12. Things That Haven’t Happened Yet

Andress, a former iHeartCountry On The Verge artist who broke out with her debut single “More Hearts Than Mine,” will release the full album next month. Good Person is due on August 26. Listen to “Blue” here:
