Lainey Wilson shared a health update as she asked for prayers for her father this week. The “Heart Like A Truck” singer shared the update from her family members on her Instagram story on Thursday afternoon (July 28). Wilson’s family explained that “it was critical to proceed with surgery.” The family’s post noted that the surgery “went well,” and explained that he is being treated with medication and will have another surgery on Friday (July 29).
“Dad has a very long road ahead but he is fighting. He is fighting hard,” the Wilson family said, in part. “We want to thank all that have reached out. We have so many prayers going up. Please keep them coming. Like I said yesterday, Dad needs them, mom needs them, granny needs them, his sister need(s) them and his girls need them.”
Wilson shared a heartwarming photo with her father on her social media channels on Wednesday evening (July 27): “My deddy. My cowboy. Please keep lifting him up in prayer. Toughest man I know. ❤️” She announced earlier that day that she would abruptly drop out of upcoming performances in Iowa because of a “family emergency,” apologizing to concertgoers and assuring them, “please trust I would not be backing out if it weren’t critical. Please keep my family in your prayers.”
