Lainey Wilson asked for continued prayers for her father as she cancels upcoming performances because of a “family emergency.” Wilson posted a photo with her father on her social media channels on Wednesday evening (July 28), sharing in her caption: “My deddy. My cowboy. Please keep lifting him up in prayer. Toughest man I know. ❤️”
Earlier in the day, Wilson announced that she would have to cancel her upcoming performances in Iowa because of a “family emergency.” She assured ticket holders that she wouldn’t make a last-minute decision to drop out of a show if it weren’t for a “critical” reason. Wilson wrote in her statement on Wednesday morning: “Due to a family emergency, I’m unable to play this weekend’s shows in Maquoketa, IA and Arnold Park, IA. I’m so sorry to cancel last minute, but please trust I would not be backing out if it weren’t critical. Please keep my family in your prayers.”
Wilson’s photo with her dad prompted an outpouring of loving and supportive messages from her social media followers, including from a few fellow country artists. Hailey Whitters, Lily Rose, Tenille Arts, Priscilla Block, Ashley Monroe, Carly Pearce, Cole Swindell and RaeLynn were among those offering their prayers to the “Heart Like A Truck” singer’s family.
