Kelly Clarkson went country again. The pop icon and beloved talk show host selected an early 2000s Keith Urban song to perform with her band Yâall during the âKellyokeâ segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday (May 25):
âPray that it's raining on Sunday/ Storming like crazy/ We'll hide under the covers all afternoon/ Baby whatever comes Monday/ Can take care of itself/ âCause we've got better things/ That we can do/ When it's raining on Sundayâ
The âRaining On Sundayâ cover marks Clarksonâs latest cover of one of Urbanâs songs, following her rendition of âTonight I Wanna Cry,â which she performed earlier this year. Clarksonâs other country covers include spins on iconic songs by Brooks & Dunn, Kelsea Ballerini, Lee Ann Womack, Kacey Musgraves, Randy Travis, Dolly Parton and more.
âMusic is in the DNA of everything I do, so when The Kelly Clarkson Show started we knew it was the perfect way to kick off every episode,â Clarkson said in a statement, announcing her six-song Kellyoke EP. âOver 500 songs later, and weâre still not running out of amazing artists to pay tribute to. âŚThanks for singing along with me yâall!â
