Elle King and Dierks Bentley are back with another collaboration. The duo debuted“Worth A Shot” earlier this year during a performance at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. They finally released the duet on Friday (May 13).

Earlier this week, King and Bentley stirred anticipation for the song on Twitter. King wrote: “Hey [Dierks Bentley]… wanna release a song this Friday?? #WorthAShot.” Bentley replied: “Hey Elle… I’m down, let’s do it..!”

King and Bentley exchanged words of support and admiration for one another as artists after the performance at the Ryman, with King calling Bentley “the most wonderful, life changing, and inspiring person. I look up to you, respect you, and love you to no end.” Bentley returned the favor, saying that it was “so fun to debut a new song we have together… love you Elle!”

The pair also collaborated on “Different For Girls” in 2016, reflecting on the different ways men and women handle a breakup: “It's different for girls when their hearts get broke/ They can't tape it back together with a whiskey and Coke/ They don't take someone home and act like it's nothing/ They can't just switch it off every time they feel something/ A guy gets drunk with his friends and he might hook up/ Fast forward through the pain, pushing back when the tears come on/ But it's different for girls”

Their new song, “Worth A Shot,” suggests trying a shot of whiskey to mend a relationship on the rocks: “Might be in a bottle, a little proof from the past/ Might be at the bottom of an empty glass/ Don't know if the whiskey can fix it or not/ But, baby, it's worth a shot/ One shot from the top of the shelf/ Maybe two, what the hell/ ‘Cause we've been on the rocks/ One shot may be all that we got/ I don't know about you, but I think it's worth a shot”
