Carrie Underwood just revealed the release date of her “Ghost Story” music video with a haunting teaser... The seven-second video announcing Underwood’s upcoming premiere shows the award-winning country artist’s silhouette as she gracefully waves to an applauding crowd, seated in the spotlight on a swing suspended from the ceiling. After a few seconds, the sound of applause cuts out and leaves the swing swaying on its own.
Underwood, who is in the midst of her Las Vegas residency (which kicks up again in May), also reached “new heights” when she delivered a Vegas-worthy performance of “Ghost Story” at the 2022 CMT Music Awards. She ascended into the air in silk ribbons by the end of the song.
“Ghost Story,” which released last month, is a track Underwood describes as “a really powerful revenge song… But this time instead of smashing his headlights with a baseball bat, she’s just going to haunt his every waking moment. She’s not just the one that got away, but she’s the one that he cannot forget.”
It’s the first song Underwood released from her highly-anticipated upcoming album, Denim & Rhinestones, which is set to release on June 10. The 12-track project also includes the previously-released title track and the girl power anthem “Crazy Angels.”
Underwood is one of many artists included in the star-studded lineup at the iHeartCountry Festival presented by Capital One, set for May 7 in Austin, Texas. Fans can tune in and stream the 2022 iHeartCountry Festival on iHeartMedia's Country music radio stations in local markets across the country, as well as on iHeartRadio.com and the iHeartRadio app on May 7th at 8pm ET/5pm PT (7pm CT).
