Six of “country music’s brightest up and coming stars” will perform at the 2022 CMT Music Awards. CMT revealed the artists set to take the Ram Trucks Side Stage during the live show in April. Here’s who CMT named this year:
- Priscilla Block – “My Bar”
- BRELAND – “Praise The Lord”
- Jessie James Decker – “Should Have Known Better”
- Parker McCollum – “To Be Loved By You”
- Elvie Shane – “My Boy”
- Caitlyn Smith – “High”
CMT noted that Block, BRELAND, McCollum, Shane and Smith are all up for “Breakthrough Video of the Year,” along with “Female Video of the Year” nominee Tenille Arts, who performed on the Side Stage last year. CMT previously announced that other artists set to perform at this year’s awards show include Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd, Carly Pearce, Cole Swindell with Lainey Wilson and Keith Urban. Though Luke Combs was initially included on the list, he had to drop out after testing positive for COVID-19.
The show is set to air live from Nashville starting at 8 p.m. on April 11. It will air for the first time on CBS (as well as live-stream and on-demand on Paramount+), and CMT will air an extended cut of the show with an additional 30 minutes of performances and other bonus content on April 15, the country music hub previously announced.
