Luke Combs Drops CMT Music Awards Performance, Quarantining With COVID-19

Luke Combs has dropped out of performing at the CMT Music Awards after testing positive for COVID-19. The “Cold As You” singer is currently quarantining, according to a CMT spokesperson. The spokesperson confirmed in a statement shared with PEOPLE:

“Unfortunately Luke Combs won't be with us tomorrow. He is quarantined with COVID. He's bummed to miss seeing everyone!”

PEOPLE noted in its report on Thursday (March 24) that Combs was set to pre-record his performance for the upcoming awards show. The 2022 CMT Music Awards is set for April 11, airing on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+.

Earlier this week, CMT announced the first round of artists set to perform at the 2022 CMT Music Awards, which is set to air live from Nashville starting at 8 p.m. That announcement also included Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Cody JohnsonMiranda LambertLittle Big TownMaren Morris and Ryan HurdCarly PearceCole Swindell with Lainey Wilson and Keith UrbanBallerini is also set to return as a co-host the show, this time with Captain America actor Anthony Mackie. Combs has not commented on his COVID-19 diagnosis as of publication time on Thursday morning.
