Carrie Underwood revealed another new detail about her highly-anticipated new release: “Ghost Story” is coming on Friday (March 18), Underwood shared, along with a new 10-second sound bite. A few hours later, she shared another post teasing her upcoming single.

The award-winning artist’s most recent country album is Cry Pretty, which released in 2018. Underwood followed that with her holiday album, My Gift, in 2020 with a special edition in 2021, and My Saviorher debut gospel album last year. She’s also released a few recent collaborations — including “If I Didn’t Love You,” with Jason Aldean — but fans have long awaited her next country album.

Underwood has dropped a few hints recently, including at the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards, when she told media outlets: “I mean, I’m always working on something. Obviously we can’t spill too many beans right now, but my fans know what I mean when I say ‘soon.’ Soon. They actually hate it when I use that word because they’re like, ‘what does that mean?!’ But (I’ve) been busy, for sure.”

She finally confirmed on Monday (March 14) that new music — “Ghost Story” — would release on Friday. See her latest Instagram posts below.
