Carrie Underwood might have hinted at new music on the way following her jaw-dropping performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Monday night (March 7). The country music powerhouse spoke with media outlets after performing “If I Didn’t Love You” with Jason Aldean, which won the ACM Single of the Year. When asked whether fans can expect a new album and tour from her this year, Underwood might have dropped a hint at something in the works — without revealing too many details:

“I mean, I’m always working on something. Obviously we can’t spill too many beans right now, but my fans know what I mean when I say ‘soon.’ Soon. They actually hate it when I use that word because they’re like, ‘what does that mean?!’ But (I’ve) been busy, for sure.”

Underwood wowed the crowd when she descended from the ceiling during her performance with Aldean, making a Vegas-worthy entrance onstage. The 57th ACM Awards show comes as Underwood is gearing up for the next leg of REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency, and said Vegas has become “my home away from home” when she spoke about the stunning performance at the ACMs: “I feel like I’ve gotten a taste for Vegas showmanship, and it’s just so much fun. We were trying to think of ways to make this performance fresh and fun… When somebody said, ‘how would she feel about descending from the ceiling,’ I was like, ‘I feel good about that.’ I was excited. It’s something I’ve never done before, and I’m always up for trying new things (and) adding a bit of danger into performance.”

The “Last Name” singer also offered her congratulations to Miranda Lambert, who was named Entertainer of the Year. Underwood deemed her “long overdue” for winning the award, and “couldn’t be more proud of her as a sister in this genre of music, in this industry.” Though Lambert was unable to attend the show in person because she was in London, she gushed that she’s “happy to be where I am. I’ve been waiting for this for a really, really long time. I actually never thought it would happen… This one goes out to all the singer-songwriter girls out there that are putting their blood, sweat and tears into their guitar strings. We did it. This is for us.
