When Brett Young heard that a young fan wanted to celebrate her birthday with him, he agreed to join a Zoom call with her — or so she thought.
Young took it one giant step forward by crashing the birthday party in person, and the reaction was absolutely priceless. The country artist shared a video of the heartwarming moment on his social media channels on Friday (February 18). Starting with the backstory, a caption reads: “My neighbors daughter (who has the same birthday as me) wrote a letter to Brett Young and invited him to her party that was last weekend. He obviously couldn’t make it. So this is what showed up instead.” The video shows the fan, Abbie, opening the door to a cutout of Young standing in front of her.
“I wanted to see what would happen if the real me showed up,” Young narrated the video, which shows him walk into the room to find a group of girls screaming with excitement. Young played his hit song “Lady,” explaining in the voiceover: “We told them it was gonna be on Zoom, and I think they were all a little in shock.”
“This. Was. Incredible,” Young captioned the video when he shared it on Instagram. “It was a pleasure meeting you, Abbie!”
Of course, Young’s followers loved reliving the special moment. "Welp that got me,” Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney commented. Fans were “sobbing,” hailing the sweet moment on that “Abbie and her friends will cherish forever!” Watch Young surprise Abbie for her birthday here:
