Jon Pardi shared stories about growing up in California, the importance of supporting Nashville songwriters, and embracing his life as a “girl dad” on a recent episode of God’s Country.
Pardi joined brothers and hosting duo Dan and Reid Isbell for an in-depth discussion on the podcast. The episode arrives shortly after Grand Ole Opry member released his fifth studio record, Honkytonk Hollywood. The 17-track album represents “my personal definition of country music,” Pardi said as he delivered a blend of energetic anthems and heartfelt ballads, including some that offer a glimpse into his family life. He and wife Summer Pardi share two young daughters, Presley Fawn Pardi, who turned 2 earlier this year, and Sienna Grace Pardi, who was born in July 2024. Pardi has since added dates to his headlining “Honkytonk Hollywood Tour.” See the dates here.
“This week Reid and Dan host ACM and CMA winning artist, Jon Pardi, out in God's Country. Jon dives in on growing up in Northern California and what the outdoors looked like for him there. He shares why bow-hunting is not his preference and why he thinks the state of California gets a bad wrap, when it's actually one of the most beautiful places in the country. The guys dive in on how touring artists are not making near the money you think they are and Jon shares the importance of supporting songwriters in Nashville. The episode ends with a jam session that will have you blasting his new record, Honkytonk Hollywood!”
Dan and Reid — who have written music for Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson and others — started their weekly podcast in early January 2024. Some of the first guests to appear on the show include HARDY, Dustin Lynch, Colbie Caillat and others.
“One of our favorite things about country music has always been how intertwined it is with the outdoors,” Dan and Reid Isbell said in a statement when God’s Country launched. They hope to “bring the outdoor enthusiast or country music lover an up close and personal look into the minds of some of the best songwriters and artists of the genre — a place where they can be honest about struggles, relationships, their connection to the outdoors, the music business, family, whatever they feel comfortable talking about. We can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.”
