Rising country singer-songwriter Dylan Gossett delivered a cover of “Wagon Wheel” — complete with a harmonica solo — when he appeared on a recent episode of God’s Country.
Old Crow Medicine Show released “Wagon Wheel” in the early 2000s after the band’s frontman, Ketch Secor, wrote the verses to the song music legend Bob Dylan started in the 1970s, writing and recording the chorus. Hootie & the Blowfish star Darius Rucker recorded his hit version of “Wagon Wheel” on his 2013 solo record, True Believers.
Gossett, 25, a country singer-songwriter from Austin, Texas, delivered his rendition of “Wagon Wheel” and more when he joined brothers Dan and Reid Isbell on the podcast. The hosting duo said “Dylan dives in with one of our most passionate ‘What Ya Mad At’s’ in regards to college football. They dive in on the swift life swap that’s occurred for Dylan over the last 18 months and how he’s learned to navigate his new normal of touring, music full time, and everything in between. Dan and Reid — who have written music for Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson and others — started their weekly podcast this year. Guests appearing on the show so far include HARDY, Dustin Lynch, Colbie Caillat and others.
