Carrie Underwood delivered a breathtaking performance when she led the worship team at a local church in Franklin, Tennessee, outside of Nashville.

Underwood led worship at Rolling Hills Community Church with a rendition of “Goodness of God,” a song that appeared on Bethel Music’s live-recorded studio album in 2019. Instagram users shared videos of Underwood’s performance, writing in their captions that it “was a sweet surprise and it blessed me so much. It’s amazing to hear her sing about God as her passion is very evident.” Another said it was an “unexpected blessing this morning the voice of an angel… I always get to church early to hear the music and today was a little different!”

Underwood has remained open about her faith throughout her nearly two-decade career as a country singer-songwriter. She launched her career as a contestant on American Idol she will return to the show in 2025 as a judge — and has since released several country albums, Christmas music and a Grammy-winning gospel album.

My Savior arrived in March 2021. Underwood’s eighth full-length record and first gospel album included renditions of classic gospel songs, including “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” featuring CeCe Winans, “How Great Thou Art,” “Because He Lives,” “Softly And Tenderly,” “Amazing Grace” and more. Underwood said when she emotionally spoke about her Grammy Award for the album in 2022 that “this is one of the most important bodies of work I’ve ever been a part of, been able to do. This is one thing that I’ve wanted to do literally my whole career. I’ve wanted to make this album, and I got to, and this just means the world to me.”
