Kacey Musgraves debuted a stunning ballad — and announced her world tour stops — as she prepares to release her fifth full-length studio album next month. “Too Good To Be True” arrived on Thursday (February 29).
Musgraves announced her newest song earlier this week, including her dog in one of the photos as she sits cross-legged on a stool with her guitar. She teased “Too Good To Be True” with the lyrics: “Please don’t make me regret opening up that part of myself/ That I’ve been scared to give again/ Be good to me and I’ll be good to you/ But please don’t be too good to be true.”
Musgraves hinted at an album announcement earlier this month when she premiered a commercial during the 2024 Grammy Awards. That same evening, she presented Lainey Wilson with the award for Best Country Album (Bell Bottom Country) and made history for her win with Zach Bryan (“I Remember Everything”), becoming the first artist ever to win in all four country categories at the Grammy Awards. Shortly after the show, she announced that her next album, Deeper Well, will arrive on March 15, and released the title track and its music video. Musgraves posted album snapshots taken by her younger sister, photographer Kelly Christine Sutton. Musgraves described the forthcoming record, produced with Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, as “a collection of songs I hold very dear to my heart. I hope it makes a home in all of your hearts, too.”
Musgraves, who created a candle scent with Boy Smells inspired by her album, is set to return to the Saturday Night Live stage this weekend. SNL will include host Sydney Sweeney and musical guest Musgraves on Saturday (March 2).
