Shania Twain shared a new behind-the-scenes look at at the highly-anticipated Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration special, which is set to make its debut on Thursday evening (December 15). Twain, who plays Mrs. Potts in the two-hour production, said it’s been a “truly magical experience.”
“Being a part of [Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration] was truly a magical experience... also I can now tick "dress as a teapot for three weeks" off of my bucket list 😂 The whole cast are wonderful and it was an honour to work alongside them - [H.E.R. (Belle), Josh Groban (The Beast), Joshua Henry (Gaston), Leo Abelo Perry (Chip), Rizwan Manji (LeFou), Rita Moreno (Narrator), David Alan Grier (Cogsworth), Jon Jon Briones (Maurice)], Martin Short… so much talent 😍 I can't wait to hear what you think of it!!”
Twain shared in a promo for the reimagined, live-action special that “Be Our Guest” was one of the highlights of playing Mrs. Potts in the show, deeming the fan-favorite musical number the “party of a lifetime.” Short, who plays the beloved candlestick Lumiere, added that it’s a “showstopper.”
The international superstar singer-songwriter — who is also gearing up to release her album, Queen Of Me, and kick off a global tour of the same name — revealed in October that she would be part of the star-studded Beauty and the Beast cast. Twain added a heartfelt tribute to Angela Lansbury, who lent her voice to the iconic Disney character in the early 1990s film, in her announcement. The legendary actress died “peacefully in her sleep” at her Los Angeles home on October 11, days before her 97th birthday.
Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration is et to air on ABC on Thursday, December 15 at 8 p.m. ET. It’ll be available on Disney+ the following day, according to ABC. See Twain’s stunning sneak peek photos here:
