Luke Combs shared an acoustic rendition of a song released by a fellow award-winning country artist, and hundreds of fans are gushing over the “incredible” cover.

Combs posted his spin on singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton’s 2013 track, “What Are You Listening To?,” on TikTok: “I put that record on/ Girl you know what song/ And I let it play again and again/ You're in every line/ Takes me back in time/ Yeah tonight I'm wondering/ What are you listening to/ Is it a cover band in some college town bar/ Where it's na-na-na's and air guitars/ Or is it something to get you through/ Just a sad song playing on the radio station/ Tears still fall and hearts still breakin’/ Cause you're hanging on/ Or is it a love song about someone new/ What are you listening to?”

The Stapleton cover prompted tons of of comments from Combs’ TikTok followers, many of whom were hopeful he would release the cover on streaming services (and pledged to play it on repeat if he did). Some wrote: “I’d love to see you & Chris collab. Two of the best voices in country music,” “Favorite Stapleton song by my favorite artist! Don’t get much better than this 👏🏽,” “That’s my favourite Chris Stapleton song and now I’m crying 😭 [Luke Combs] you are breathtaking ✨,” “This is literally my most favorite song. Please release this!!!,” and “The BEST cover you’ve ever done,” to name a few.

Combs recently released a highly-demanded cover of “Dive,” which Ed Sheeran included on his 2017 album ÷. That song is one that Combs has performed during live performances, including earlier this hear when he and Sheeran took the stage together during Combs’ headlining set at the C2C: Country to Country music festival. Over the summer, the reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Artist of the Year released his latest album, Growin’ Up, a long-awaited 12-track project that includes “Doin’ This,” “Tomorrow Me,” “Going, Going, Gone” and other fan-favorite anthems.
