Kane Brown delivered a “Grand” performance when he took the stage at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday evening (August 28). The trailblazer became the first male country artist to perform during the epic show, and he said as he arrived at the event that he’s “excited to be here…knocking down barriers.”
Brown made his “epic ‘VMAs’ debut” as the Toyota Stage headliner. The iconic performance follows last year’s milestone, when Brown was the only country artist to receive a nomination in the “Video For Good” category for his single “Worldwide Beautiful,” according to a previous press release. Brown released “Grand” earlier this summer, marking one of the latest singles to release from his highly-anticipated album, Different Man:
“Ain’t life grand/ Only ones I keep around me is my fam/ No coincidence, it's always been the plan/ And I always keep it trilly with the fans/ Oh, ain’t life grand/ And I love a little whiskey in my hand/ Make it disappear then reappear again/ Matter fact I never want this life to end until the end”
Brown’s 17-track album also includes “Leave You Alone,” “One Mississippi,” “Whiskey Sour,” “Like I Love Country Music,” and more, including collaborations with Blake Shelton and with his wife, Katelyn Brown (the couple shared an adorable photo with their two young daughters as they arrived at the VMAs). Brown’s album is set to release on September 9. See the 2022 MTV VMA winners here.
