Tyler Hubbard followed his debut single with a song that’ll be perfect for rolling the windows down during a summer drive. Hubbard shared when he released “35’s” on Friday (June 24): “It’s a song that makes me wanna put the pedal to the metal, but it’s really about slowing down and living life at a slower pace, being present, and in the moment.”

Hubbard wrote “35’s” a few years ago with Jordan Schmidt and Michael Tyler. Since then, the song has “become an anthem in my home that I never get tired of. This one’s gonna be fun to play live. Turn this one up.”

“‘35s’ is a fun song I wrote a couple of years back, and it’s honestly all about slowing down, living life to the fullest, being present and just letting the good things kind of sink in,” Hubbard added in a statement. “For me, I’m guilty of running too fast, living a little too fast, trying to be too productive and check all the boxes, and I just needed a little reminder to slow down and let life sink in every now and then. So, that’s kind of the heart and soul behind this song. It’s also a rocker. It feels good and it kind of makes you want to do everything but slow down, but I hope you love it as much as I do.”

His wife, Hayley Hubbard, also described “35’s” as an “anthem” when she shared it on her Instagram story on Friday: “This really was our anthem this past year and I can’t count the number of times our kids would yell ‘35s!!!’ when we got in the car. Love this one and proud of you [Tyler Hubbard] Can’t wait for all the other songs.”

“35’s” follows Hubbard’s debut single, “5 Foot 9,” which released in May. That song serves as “a little reminder that there are a lot of good things in life,” inspired by Hayley (though Hubbard later admitted that he missed his wife’s height by an inch when he wrote the song). Hubbard assured fans, “there’s a lot more where this came from. This is just the beginning, and I’m so excited to share my songs, my story and my journey with you guys.”
