Dustin Lynch had the perfect reason to get into “Party Mode” on Monday night (February 14). The country singer-songwriter celebrated his newest project with an exclusive iHeartCountry Album Release Party.

Donning his signature cowboy hat, Lynch kicked off the party with a song that every fan already knows and loves: “Small Town Boy,” which released on his Current Mood album in 2017. It wasn’t long before the crowd got to hear Lynch’s latest song from his new album, which is “about embracing the other side of a breakup,” he explained. “It’s called ‘Party Mode.’”

Lynch premiered his “Party Mode” music video on the same day he released Blue In The Sky. He said in a statement at the time: “This video was such a blast to shoot! Bringing my buddies, Cornbread and Corbin, down to Florida to get rowdy with me – that’s the good stuff. …If y’all know us, you know we like to keep it in ‘Party Mode’ year-round, so if you run into us out on the town … we've got the first round!” The new track makes good on Lynch's promise to deliver “songs that are going to make you feel good and want to mix a drink and party with your friends.”

Amy Brown, co-host of The Bobby Bones Show, interviewed Lynch during the live-streamed party, and fielded a few questions from fans. Lynch told Brown that as he was planning the “Party Mode” video, “it just became obvious it should be my friends in real life” featured in it. Lynch’s friends agreed to fly to Florida from Bowling Green, Kentucky — marking Cornbread’s first time on a plane. “It was their first time ever on a video set…” Lynch said. “We had a blast, and that’s something we’ll get to cherish for the rest of our lives.”

Of course, Lynch’s album release party wasn’t complete without one of his latest smash hit songs — and a surprise guest. His duet parter, MacKenzie Porter, joined Lynch on stage to perform “Thinking ‘Bout You.” It’s one of a few collaborations included on Blue In The Sky, along with Lynch’s summer anthem with Chris Lane, and another song with Riley Green.

The exclusive iHeartCountry Album Release Party included heartbreak tracks (including “Tennessee Trouble”), and a song dedicated Lynch’s mom: “Somethin’ That Makes You Smile” is her favorite track on Blue In The Sky, Lynch said. The country singer-songwriter also kept the party going with “Ridin’ Roads,” “Where It’s At,” “Cowboys and Angels” — the song written for Lynch’s grandparents, who will celebrate their 68th anniversary this year — “Good Girl,” and other fan-favorite throwbacks.

Lynch finally confirmed his new album during a recent appearance on Good Morning America. He revealed the new details after deleting everything from his Instagram account and replacing it all with three vague posts. The mysterious move didn’t release information at the time, though many fans were hoping it was a hint at new music on the way. Blue In The Sky is Lynch’s fifth full-length studio album, and his latest since releasing Tullahoma in 2020. Soon, Lynch is hitting the road on his “Party Mode” Tour with special guest Sean Stemaly, and Lynch promised Monday night to add more tour dates soon.
