Country megastar Morgan Wallen released his haunting cover of rock ballad “Graveyard Whistling” to kick off the weekend on Friday (October 17).

The reigning Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year previously reimagined the Nothing But Thieves song with his own country twist, and recorded it in the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, England. Wallen’s rendition arrives more than a decade after the alt rockers released “Graveyard Whistling” on their debut EP. The cover art of Wallen’s version depicts a crow overlooking a graveyard in a style similar to the singer-songwriter’s I’m The Problem album artwork.

Wallen released his highly-anticipated fourth studio record earlier this year. The massive, 37-track project included the title track, “I Got Better,” “Superman,” “What I Want” with Tate McRae, “Just In Case,” “Number 3 and Number 7” with Eric Church, “Come Back As A Redneck” with HARDY, “Love Somebody,” “The Dealer” with ERNEST, “I Ain’t Comin’ Back” with Post Malone (the duo's latest team-up since “I Had Some Help” appeared on Posty’s F-1 Trillion record), “Smile,” “Lies Lies Lies,” “I’m A Little Crazy” and more. Wallen, who seemingly hinted at a 2026 tour earlier this week, confirmed on Friday he’ll premiere the “20 Cigarettes” music video on Monday (October 20).
