Gracie McGraw shared a statement on her Instagram story to clarify “click bait” reports that she’s “come out.’

McGraw, 28, wrote in a note she shared on her story that “it has come to my attention that some tabloids have taken an Instagram story I posted yesterday and have used it as click bat saying I’ve ‘come out.’” She aimed to be “VERY clear” as she said “I’ve been an out and proud queer, bisexual woman and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have and will always be very vocal about my support of LGBTQIA+ rights and the community, but thank you so much to these tabloids for shedding light that it’s pride month!!!

“So many people out there don’t have the support, love, or understanding from their families when it comes to their sexuality or gender identity, but. just know that there is a beautiful community out there that loves you and cares for you,” McGraw continued. “Check on your people and keep safe out there. Give love to each other.” McGraw’s clarifying statement arrives after multiple outlets reported that she celebrated Pride Month on her Instagram stories, including writing on one slide, “I love being queer.”

McGraw is the oldest daughter of country stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, who are also parents to Maggie McGraw, 26, and Audrey McGraw, 23 (neither of the country artists have publicly commented on the reports about their daughter’s Instagram stories). Tim recently shared a childhood photo of his eldest daughter as he celebrated her 28th birthday last month, and wrote in a tribute: “You are a light in this world my sweet girl. So much heart, soul, respect and yes LOADS of talent!!! We hope you have the best day ever and know that you are loved beyond measure! I love you my little girl” The two country artists also shared tributes to their eldest daughter when they attended recent performances in New York City. The eldest McGraw daughter took the stage in a PBS special, The Great War And the Great Gatsby, that will air on Veterans Day. Tim also said he was a “proud girl dad” when McGraw made her off Broadway debut.
