Woodstock, Georgia is proud of it's hometown "The Voice" winner. Moote, Kimmie, and Otis talked to him about the "moment I'll never forget" as he describes it.
Bryce said this was the highlight of his life so far as a musician that's been trying to make his way in the music scene by playing venues and bars all around Georgia for years. "So cool to see all the hometown support... I'm so proud to say I'm a Georgian. I've grown up around some incredible people, in an incredible town."
A graduate of Georgia Southern majoring in business management, Bryce said, "This show has opened me up to so many other opportunities and life changing experiences." The moment that really gave him the "Oh Wow!' moment he told MKO was "when that confetti hit, Blake Shelton picked me up and I'm at a loss for words."
Leatherwood was an underdog that pulled out the win, which is a history making moment. He had to "battle back" and save himself on Blake Shelton's team and no other contestant has won it after having to do that.
Now finding his big break, Bryce gave advice to those trying to make it, "Believe in yourself, work hard and practice. And go out and take a leap of faith. You never know what could happen."
Leatherwood is an incredible example for the State Of Georgia and the whole state is excited to see him succeed and make us even more proud.
Bryce's Youth Group Leader Scott told us how humble and genuine he was and still is. We felt the same as we got the chance to talk with him.
