Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Akins, celebrated 13 years of marriage on Sunday (October 12).

The “Die A Happy Man” superstar posted a selfie with Akins on Instagram to mark “13 years with my best friend and the most beautiful girl I ever saw,” he wrote in his caption. “I love you to the moon [Lauren Akins], happy anniversary!”

Rhett, 35, met Akins, 35, met in elementary school. They dated briefly in high school, and remained friends until they rekindled the relationship years later. Rhett popped the question after six months of dating when he got back together with Akins in 2011, and they got married on October 12, 2012, opting for a stunning outdoor ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee.

Since then, Rhett and Akins have welcomed four daughters: Willa Gray (9), Ada James (7), Lennon Love (5) and Lillie Carolina (3). They announced in late August that Akins is pregnant with the couple’s fifth child. Rhett and Akins announced Baby No. 5 with the country star playing a version of his 2017 single, “Life Changes,” with updated lyrics: “Well, I was wrapping my head around being a dad/ A big wrench got thrown in the plans we thought we had/ Now Lauren’s showing, got one on the way/ That’s five under 10, hey, what can I say?/ Yeah, life changes/ You wake up, ain’t nothin’ the same and life changes.”

“Here we go again! We’ve got some really excited big sisters in our house,” Rhett and Akins said when they made the pregnancy announcement. “God is so good.”
