Nate Smith said actor and comedian Kevin James “absolutely shocked everyone including myself” when he appeared on stage during a recent show.
Smith shared the surprise appearance on TikTok and Instagram on Friday (August 22). The duo reunited after James appeared in Smith’s “Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend” music video earlier this year. Smith teamed up with HARDY on the collaboration, and together, they aimed to convince James to break up with his girlfriend in the Spidey Smith-directed “absolutely feral” visual.
Smith said in his caption on TikTok that when he and HARDY filmed the video, “we had the opportunity to work my good buddy [Kevin James] and our friendship has only grown since with this guy! One of truly the best human beings in the entire world👊🏻Last night he just decided to pop up and absolutely shocked everyone including myself😂Thank you so much for coming out dude, you really are 1 of 1🔥”
In an interview with iHeartCountry earlier this year, Smith said he’d recently met James in Nashville and “decided on a whim” to ask him to appear in the “Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend” music video. James “literally got on a plane and flew the next day. Now we’re just hanging out a ton and FaceTiming. …He’s such a good human being,” Smith said. The surprise onstage collaboration between Smith and James is the actor’s latest performance with a country star. He recently shared the stage with Jelly Roll, and the pair reminisced on that moment when Jelly Roll guest hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live last month. Watch James perform with Smith here:
