Brett Young marked the beginning of a fresh chapter in his career with the release of his fifth studio record on Friday (June 20).
The California-born country artist, 44, included “Drink With You,” “Who Do I Do It For” with Lady A, “You Don’t Know What You’re Missing” with George Birge, a new version of his 2017 ballad, “In Case You Didn’t Know,” with Hannah McFarland and more on the 11-track album. Jimmy Robbins and Dann Huff teamed up to produce the project.
“It’s always my goal to be real and transparent and connect with my audience, whether that means writing a song about what happened yesterday or revisiting past experiences,” Young said in a press release when he revealed new details about the record earlier this year. The release also noted a sweet glimpse of Young’s life as a father with the song “Full House.” “It should always be about a connection with the listeners. 2.0 feels really special to me, and I’m very proud of it. I hope it makes people want to come out and see the live show even more.
“I couldn’t be more proud of this project,” he continued on Friday. “It’s been a long time coming and I’m so excited for you to finally be able to hear this music. Love y’all… Now try not to stay up all night listening. I dare ya.”
