Thomas Rhett joined fellow singer-songwriter Adam Doleac on a heartfelt ballad about redemption. “Bar Named Jesus” made its debut on Friday (March 14).

Doleac teamed up to write the song with Josh Jenkins and Chris LaCorte. It aims to explore “these of redemption, forgiveness, and finding solace in faith while discovering a sense of belonging in a place of spiritual refuge,” reads a press release issued Friday morning. The collaboration with Rhett is Doleac’s latest single to release since “Dream House” and “Bye Heart” arrived earlier this year.

“‘Bar Named Jesus’ is a song about redemption,” Doleac said in a statement in the press relase. “I don’t know anyone who has never made a mistake. In fact, I don’t know anyone who has only made one, or two, or a hundred! We all need second chances, and we all need forgiveness. Jesus is both of those things, and He can meet us anywhere, even if that place is rock bottom. That’s what ‘Bar Named Jesus’ is about, and that’s the message that I hope people hear when they listen. There is NO SUCH THING as too far gone. He never gives up on us, even in the moments that we give up on ourselves. In my opinion, this is the best song I have ever written, and I am so excited that my buddy Thomas Rhett said yes to being a part of this song. It means the world to me to get to sing it with him, and I can only hope the world thinks it is as special as we do.”
